Directions from the studio to Arrington Vineyards
take Nolensville road going toward Triune. Go 9.8 miles on Nolensville Road from the studio. Turn right onto Patton Road. You will see an Arrington Vineyards sign at this turn off of Nolensville Rd. Go 1.6 miles on Patton Rd. The Vineyards is on the left.

Open Rehearsals

The studio is open Friday from 1-3 for competition tryout practice. Saturday at tryouts... Thunderbolts will be performing the jazz and hip hop that I taught...Spitfires will perform the hip hop Mr. Al taught and the jazz and hip hop I taught...Phantoms will perform Prettiest Girls, Intergalactic and All Night...B52s will perform Whip My Hair and Who You Are! Yay for tryouts!!

Workshop and Tryout Info

Hope everyone is enjoying their week off! Mel and Alex will be flying in on Sunday and they are very exciting about the workshop. Please give them your full attention at ALL times! They are very very well trained dancers and you can learn so much from them. Mel and Alex both trained at Larkin Dance Studio in Minnesota and I have so much respect for their dance teachers and studio. They are one of the best studios in the country.

We will be split up by age groups. If you are trying out for the B52's, you will be in the Seniors group. If you are trying out for the Phantoms, you will be in the Teen group. If you are trying out for the SpitFires, you will be in the Junior Group. If you are trying out for the ThunderBoltz and BombShels, you will be in the mini group.


Alex and Mel will be judging you for placement. Always perform and do your best. Please wear dance attire. No big t-shirts please. You can wear loose clothes for the hip hop classes. Bring ballet shoes for ballet and tap shoes for tap if you are in mini-Extreme.

Please bring drinks and food. We will take a 30 minute break to eat. No one will have enough time to leave and run to Sonic, so please bring your lunch and snacks with you. We will have some light snacks and waters for you.

The studio will be open on Thursday and Friday for open rehearsals from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm on Thursday night and Friday during the day. I will post Friday hours later on.

Solos, duo/trios and small groups will be created throughout the year in 2011 - 2012. Students who come to ballet technique and apply their technique correctly in the choreography will be chosen for these spots. We are looking for everyone to perform and really concentrate on your technique this year. We have got to start turning and stretching our feet. We are very excited about the new year!

There will be some specialty classes the week of August 8th for teams only. Watch your blogs for these classes and times.

Ballet Resistance Bands

Please email us if you don't already have a ballet resistance band. They are going to be required in ballet classes. They should be used on a daily basis. The cost is $20. Let us know asap if you would like for us to order yours. Thanks! TheLegacyDance@gmail.com

EXTREME Workshop and Tryout Info

Spoke with Mel (Melissa) and Alex yesterday and they are both so excited to help teach our EXTREME Workshop on Monday, July 25 - Wednesday July 27th . Please try to arrive 30 minutes early on Monday to register and receive your workshop bracelet. Please wear your bracelet all week.

ALL payments are due on Monday at registration. We will not be able to bill for the EXTREME workshops. EXTREME Workshop is $120 and the Mini-EXTREME is $40. You will not be able to participate if you do not pay. Thanks for understanding this. No exceptions will be made. Also, please pay any outstanding balances ASAP.

Open House and Registration is on Saturday, July 23 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Please register before tryouts.

You will be given a number to wear at the EXTREME Workshop if you are trying out for team. Please wear your number all week so that Mel and Alex can help evaluate your potential for placement. A large portion of your scores will consist of their evaluations.

Please wear dancewear at the Workshop. You can wear hip hop clothes for the hip hop classes only.

You can wear any color dancewear that you want to the Tryouts. It's totally up to you. You WILL NOT BE JUDGED ON what you wear at tryouts. Just make sure your hair is pulled back at the Workshop and tryouts.

All team members and their families are invited to Arrington Vineyards on Sunday, July 31 from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm for Fun and Games. Bring your blankets, chairs, drinks and food. It's picnic time!

Words cannot describe how proud I am of all our teams this year. I just watched the recital video and I see you growing into such beautiful and graceful dancers.

Seniors, you are going to missed dearly. You have been such wonderful leaders. We love you all and hope all your dreams come true for you. Stay Faithful and True and you will always be successful. Help lead us to success this week.

Everyone, please make all the corrections you have been given, use your technique this week and perform from your hearts and you will all be winners!

Master Class info at Myrtle Beach

The classes will be taught by two different choreographers. Wednesday will be Kim McVicar who will be teaching a Funk/Hip Hop class, and Thursday will be Mark Burrell who teaches a Musical Theater/Jazz Class. Any dance attire is acceptable. Parents are more than welcome to stay and watch. All you need to do is come at the assigned time for your daughters age group. (the first hour is 11 & under, second hour is 12 & over).

Wednesday technique cancelled today 1-3 pm

No technique today for 7-10 year olds. It would be too much with their rehearsals tonight. Thanks!

Studio B Open for soloists

Studio B is open for solo rehearsals this week. Please use it and be ready for nationals!

Thanks to you all who participated in the Nolensville July 4th Performance! You all did an awesome job! We hope you had as much fun as we did!

Don't forget about the Wednesday 6:00 - 9:30 rehearsal. We will have a parent meeting at 7:00 pm to go over a few things regarding nationals.

Thanks to you all for dancing with Legacy this year. It has been a wonderful year to say the least! The students have learned so much and they are such a great group of children. Love you all! See you on Wednesday!

TEAM TRYOUT INFORMATION

2011 - 2012 Legacy Company tryouts will consist of scores from the EXTREME Workshop and Saturday, July 30th tryouts. If you are not planning on attending the EXTREME Workshop or the July 30th tryouts due to uncontrollable circumstances, please contact Shawn this week to schedule a pre-tryout with Shawn and guest judges. We will let you know what the tryout fees will be. Please understand that you will have to pay more than the $12 tryout fee because the judges fees will still apply and the fees cannot be divided by 60 other people. If you are not able to meet with Shawn this week and not able to come to the EXTREME Workshop or attend the July 30th tryouts, we will NOT be able to put you on the teams listed when posted on July 31st. Shawn will be out of town the week after Nationals and will not return back to town until Sunday night before the EXTREME Workshop. We will be glad to work with our students interested in team but please understand that we cannot post you on a team until you tryout for that team. NO ONE WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY PUT ON A TEAM WITHOUT ATTENDING A PRIVATE OR GROUP TRYOUT.

SO BASICALLY IF YOU WANT YOUR NAME ON THE TEAMS LIST POSTED ON JULY 31 AND YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND THE EXTREME WORKSHOP AND TRYOUTS ON JULY 30TH, YOU NEED TO CONTACT SHAWN AND SCHEDULE A TRYOUT FOR THIS WEEK, BEFORE FRIDAY AT NOON.
