Sell Your Old Costumes?

If you would like to sell any of your old costumes after nationals, please put your name, your price and the size of the costume in a plastic zip lock bag. We will gather all costumes and send them to California to try to resale for you. They charge 25% of the total fee and ship to the customer fee so keep this in mind when you are pricing your costumes. You will not receive your money until the costume is sold.


For example, By Your Side Costume - $150, State of Shock Costume - $175

NATIONALS VIDEOS

Good morning... I talked to the folks who are doing the videos at Nationals and they let me know that based on our 31 entries and 32 families (so far) that the cost per video will be $35.00 each. If we get up to 40 families, the price will go to $32.00 - not a super big savings.


Each family can either write a check for $35.00 payable to Take 2 Video and give to me or whoever is at the desk and I will collect them tonight OR they can go to the video table at the competition and give them a check or credit card. They need to tell them they are part of the Legacy Dance Studio team.

On the first day, I plan to give them our form with all of the dances and the families listed that have signed up in advance along with any checks that I received.

Letter from Video guy at Stage One Nationals

I think there is a sign up sheet in the studio for Nationals DVD's. Here is the information that we have received about this today...


Dear Studio Representative,

Take 2 Productions will be providing video and photo services at the Stage One - Gatlinburg Nationals. I am writing you to try to get together a Studio Compilation DVD for your Studio. A Studio Compilation DVD is a DVD of all of your studio's routines with a menu so that you can go right to whatever dance you desire to watch. This offer uses the power of a group purchase to provide you and your dance families an opportunity to purchase several routines at a huge discount, all on a custom DVD for your studio.

If your parents buy an individual custom DVD of their routines, they will spend $30 for the 1st routine, $20 for the 2nd routine, and so on. So if they buy 2 routines this way they will be spending $50 on only 2 routines. This is not a bad deal for a custom made personal DVD with professional quality video of your dances.



However, your dance families can get ALL of your studios routines on a single DVD or DVD SET for $35 to $55 each with the power of a large group purchase. This way they can have all of their routines as well as all of their friend's routines for hours of enjoyment and learning. In addition, we will provide you with a couple of complimentary DVD's for studio use as you see fit. You must sign up for a minimum of DVD's. And, as an added bonus for nationals, we will do a video introduction section on your DVD where the dancers introduce themselves. We will have to schedule a time sometime during the weekend to get this done. We will also be running many specials on photos in Branson. Please tell your parents to check out photos after their dances!


With your studio's amount of 19 entries I am giving a preliminary quote of $42 each with a minimum of 12 DVD's purchased.


Note from Legacy: We have 32 entries, I am guessing this is a cover letter. I am sure he will give you a good deal either way.

I know you are very busy so please give this to a dance team mom and put her in charge of contacting the others and working with me.


Attached is a .pdf of a Studio Compilation DVD order form. The form attached allows you to list all of your routines and also has a worksheet list on the right hand side for you to keep track of the dance families who buy and how they paid. We will accept a single studio payment of check or credit card, or we will accept multiple payments by check, cash or credit card from your dance families that you can collect as you sign them up. You have all week to get this done and turn in to us. Just please get this turned in to us by the end of the competition week.

Extra Rehearsal on Friday, June 22 for Soloists and Duet/Trios

This is not mandatory, but any soloist or duet/trio that would like to attend an extra rehearsal on Friday, June 22 please do so. We can use both rooms to critique and then go work for a while. Thanks!

Week of June 18th Rehearsals... Let's all come to rehearsals this week and be prepared as we can be for nationals! We have had a wonderful competition year. Let's finish off strong what we have started. Don't depend on others that are coming to rehearsals to carry you through doing well at nationals. Please continue working hard this week and next. So excited to be up against so many wonderful studios!

Naitonals Information

I know it's summer and alot of you are ready to rest, but let's keep in mind we only have 2 more weeks to feel really really good about our dances. This year's nationals is going to be really tough. It's going to be a great honor to make it to the Shootout. Please come to your rehearsals for the next 2 weeks and then we will take a break.



Phantoms and B52's are welcome to come to as many ballet techniques and leaps and turns as they would like to attend. B52's can attend the Phantoms and Phantoms can attend the B52s. We have invested too much time and money not to excel at nationals. Thanks to you all!

National Finals Shootout Championship Information
The Shootout Championship Show will take place at the end of the regular National Competition and consist of (at least) the EIGHT top scoring routines in each age group (Petite, Junior, Teen, Senior). Shootout numbers will be chosen from all performance levels and from small groups, large groups and lines. A studio may only be represented once in each age group (Petite, Junior, Teen, Senior); thus each studio may have a maximum of FOUR routines competing in the Shootout. Shootout Champions, 1st and 2nd Runners Up will be presented in each age group. Shootout Champions will receive $250 cash plus a $250 Gift Certificate toward any 2013 Regional Competition. First Runners Up will receive a $200 Gift Certificate toward any 2013 Regional Competition, and 2nd Runners Up will receive a $100 Gift Certificate toward any 2013 Regionals.
Secondary Qualification:
A studio may qualify a SECOND Shootout routine in each Age Group if:



1. The routine's score would have originally qualified it for the Shootout.



2. The two qualifying teams have completely different performers.

No previously-qualified routines will be eliminated due to Secondary Qualification. If Secondary Qualification occurs, the Show will consist of more than eight routines in each age group.

Saturday Rehearsal Schedule

I would like to have as many come to Saturday, June 16 rehearsal if possible. Andy is still in AAA and coming to Nashville to play on Tuesday, June 19th. We will still have classes but I will have someone else running classes Tuesday thru Thursday. I hope that's ok. I have only seen Andy for 3 days since March and I would love to spend time with him while he is in Nashville. I know many of you wanted to attend his games as well. He is not getting to play much on this team yet but it's ok. We can still be there to support him.




So the nationals schedule begins everyday at 7:00 am and goes until 11 - midnight everyday and ends Sunday night at 8:30 pm. This competition has never been this large. I want us to be prepared and do as much rehearsing as we can. Please attend these rehearsals if at all possible.

Thank you is not enough to express the gratitude for the amazing gift from you all. I do not expect or deserve such generosity. I am truly blessed and so thankful for you all. I could not have received a better gift for the studio. My laptop is definitely on it's last few days. I can't wait to start using this. Thanks also for the gift cards for me and Jane for the spa! First, OMG...what a wonderful job you all did! I was truly amazed by your performances! We had such a wonderful show. Thanks to all students and parents for all the hard work and dedication for making our show a complete success. We are all praying for our sweet Caroline Kmiecik this morning and hoping her pain will be relieved soon.


The Gatlinburg schedule is posted on their website. We will probably receive the detailed schedule in a day or two and will pass that info along to you all. It looks like it's going to be a huge show. Let's all work hard and come to all of the technique and all company rehearsals. Let's work hard and really do well a nationals. I am sure there will be many wonderful studios just like last year.

June's statement is $105 for everyone unless you are not dancing next year and do not plan on attending the extra classes, then your statement is your normal monthly fee. Let's work hard this summer and learn some new tricks and improve on our technique. Summer classes are where we have time to work on new skills. Let's use this time wisely. Regular Schedule for Week of June 4

We are on a regular schedule this week until Friday, June 8th. So excited for you all! It's going to be an amazing show. The back drop from New York is in and the back drop from Chicago is on it's way! We are ready!
